Here's one for you '97 F250HD guys
Hi. Thanks for letting me register! New guy here. I just acquired a Ford F250HD. The truck was ordered by the previous owner to serve as a trawl net hauler for his commercial fishing operation. It is a 1997 F250HD 4x4 ,Crew cab, 5.8L, Dually (4x6 ?) , with an OLYMPIC steel flatbed installed by the dealer. I am wanting to replace the rear leaf spring mounts and shackles . But what I don't know is if I need to buy mounts and shackles for an F-250HD or for an F350 . I can't find specs for an F250HD with a dually differential anywhere i've looked. I am trying to avoid ordering the wrong ones. The only specs I have found for 1997 F series trucks with a dually rear end are for F-350 trucks. Does anyone have any knowledge regarding a 1997 F-250HD with dual rear wheels and the suspension specs for them? After a day of searching the internet trying to find out the correct part numbers, I'm no further along in this than I was when I started. Any knowledge would help tremendously and I would be Oh so grateful! Thank you so much!

Places like spring shops that do all types of spring work , including making their own leaf springs could most likely provide some assistance with this.
They would know what would be required and where to obtain any necessary parts to do the job.. You might even want to farm that job out to them.

I'm not one to farm out any work that I'm capable of doing. This is just one of many things among my constant quest for knowledge. I live in a rather rural area anyways and there is no place close by that does that kinda thing. I know where to get the parts. I just need to know which parts to get. If all else fails, I'll just go with the heavier of the two. I'm hoping that someone on here can share some knowledge with me. on these F-250HD's with dually's on them.

A lot is going to depend on where you reside. If there is no vehicle inspection to be concerned with, you can probably do whatever you want.
Many of us have started some jobs only to find we should have left this to a shop qualified and equipped to handle it.
There is no big deal to switching springs and components until the crap hits the fan, then we gain some experience which comes from poor judgement.
Again, not knowing where you reside, but if you alter "Things" and get into any kind of mishap, you could wind up handing your farm over to someone else if you get my point.
Rural folks are easy pickings for some lawyers and you need to be aware of this.

you could take the old spring off and take them to a spring shop and have them rebent or maybe they call it rearched and that way you will still doing the work that you can do yourself i know they were doing this to the older 1960s ford mustangs
