K&N filters

RE: K&N filters
The K&N filter is a LOOSE weave , Thats why they can suck more air, However if they are OILED correctly , they will filter better then just paper filters , Most problems come from guys OVER oiling them , Which is then pulled thru the intake an fouls the MAF sensor-- So if some one failed to OIL it then yea I can see where it would be a problem.[sm=gears.gif]

RE: K&N filters
K&N meets the same standards as the OEM paper filter.
I could see it letting more dirt through if you didnt oil it, but if you oil it correctly I cant see you having a problem. We've used K&N filters on our vehicle for years and never have we had any problems with our engines.

NOTTTT!!!! If your going to put a K+N FILTER IN A DIESEL YOU'LL BE SORRY!!! Ya I know What your gonna say. But I tried it and noticed within 3000km that it was letting fine particles of DUST in. NOT GOOD!! I told a friend this because I knew he was using it ,and I also knew that he was driving 175km one way on gravel to work.We looked at his filter and found it to be very DIRTY his reply was "I guess it's time to clean it then"...I said get rid of it!!!!! $ 55000. TRUCK and he wants to save $12. on a filter/year.... All I say is at 35psi boost you better have a filter, and NO cotton is gonna work for ME!!!!!!Leave it on the Q-tips where it belongs.
