Default newbie - just bought used F-250

hey all,
just purchased a used 04 F-250 XL 5.4L FX4 supercab.
it has 79,000 miles - do the 5.4L engines have good reliability, durability, longevity?
how many more miles should i be able to get out of the engine? (given i do regular oil changes, etc.)

also, it's got a chrome tailgate handle that i want to replace with a black one, or paint black. anyone know how to remove and/or re-install one? it's also has the locking handle. thanks for the help!

Welcome to the site..

5.4's a good power plant.. Some issues, butsolid performer.. We have a 2000 parts chaser here that has 200K on the clock..

To remove the tail gate handle, remove the accesspanel on the inside gate surface.. Under the panel there will be 2 nuts to take loose, and 2 rod/latch clips to release.. Easy job...

Here's a few pics....
