Default P1633

Hi all. I bought a 2008 f250 5.4L 3V that wasn't run for a year. They thought the engine was blown (and it still may need an engine...oil had water in it and the timing chain guides were all broken to bits in the oil pan). It's throwing a P1633 code. I checked the fuses that some have indicated and they are all good. I checked the grounds coming out of the PCM wire bundles to the fire wall and they were corroded, so I cleaned those up and reattached them. Still show check engine light.

I noticed, one of the ground wires (the largest strap actually) was run to one of the ground screws with another ground. It looked like it used to be grounded on it's own on the fire wall. Though, I'm just guessing from the hole and paint scratches. Any thoughts if that could be the cause of the PCM/P1633 code? Other thoughts?

Thanks

D

Since we have to start someplace,I would suggest that you clean every ground connection you can find.
Then check all the positive feed supplies you can find. The code suggests insufficient power and it could mean power or ground.

Thanks. I cleaned all of the grounds I could track down, but it's a good suggestion to check out the positive feeds as well!
