I just bought a new switch to adjust the height of the pedals and it doesn't work. everything is plugged in and the fuse is good. is there a relay or something else I need to check?

It could be the motor assy that is attached to the accelerator pedal...I am dealing with the same thing on my 03 Expedition, but on mine I know the switch and fuse are good because I can feel/hear/see the motor trying to turn the shaft. I also had a seat motor give out and that is what fixed it was to get a new motor. The problem with the pedals is that the motor is part of the whole accel. pedal lever and everything. Ford says $286.00 - thank you very much! I cannot find a replacement anywhere, so I guess either I live with it or I am stuck with giving them full price.

 

I think i am having the same problem as you Mattropolis, I have an 04 Expy with the same symptoms as you describe. God knows how long it has been broken? My wife doesn't drive it often, so not to concerened except when we take road trips. Its easier to do all the driving then to pay the $286.00.
