Problems with 2000 ford f250 5.4l
Me and my girlfriend have been having issues with the truck for a couple months. It starts fine 98% of the time. The problems start when we get going almost right away. It may get to 10 or 15 mph and will bog down and lose power. We seem to be able to sputter our way a few miles down the road and back like to the store. That's it. If we drive too far it will eventually all out die, and we've had to get pulled back home a couple times. Just to note. I am in no way, shape, or form experienced with anything mechanical as far as Ford's or vehicles at all. And cannot afford to bring it to a mechanic. So far Ive done what my friends have said or I can find online. So please excuse and lapse in verbage. I took it to AutoZone and had it hooked up. It showed a couple codes for lean rich ok bank 1 and 2 and the guy there said Ford's have issues alot with the mass air flow sensor and that was probably it. I bought a new one and replaced it. That has been a week and a half and it's still doing the same stuff. The check engine light did go away when I replaced that. But a few days later it came back and auto zone isn't showing any codes .I saw online to check the vacuum hoses and I have done that to the best of my knowledge. I replaced the pcv valve also. I started checking the diagrams for all the fuses and relays for the boxes under the dash and hood. The only thing I could see was the #10 fuse for the under dash fuses (dual tank fuse) was gone. I took the required 15 amp fuse, tried to put it in that slot, and it just falls out. But my gf and friend told me because one of the tanks had been taken out it doesn't have or need a dual tank fuse anymore so it shouldn't make any difference. So we're to the point where we don't have any idea what to even try.
