Default Put new air intake and new exhaust and fuel mileage is WORSE!!!

So on Friday I put a new AirRaid air intake and new exhaust on my 03 F250. I just bought this truck a week ago Friday and was averaging 14.1 miles on the highway and one fill up I got 15 miles (according to the old fillerup method. The center console shows 12.8 to 13.5 as I reset it on Friday. (I only filled up once and used the old calc method to be the same as the center console.)

Anyway, shouldnt I be getting MUCH better fule mileage? Do I need to do anything to get there?

yeah, sell the 6.0 and get a 7.3L LOL! I'm just bustin your chops. Depends on the mods you have done. If the AirRaid takes air more from under the hood than from outside like the OEM intake then you are getting hotter air and less oxygen in the engine, thus producing less power and less mileage.

It takes air from the outside and under the hood.

What is the weather like where you live? If you live in a cold climate the winterized fuel will give you less mileage. Were your driving conditions different? There are many variables in mileage so its hard to tell what has changed. Never trust the fuel calculations on the console. My 2000 F350 CC tells me I get upwards of 25mpg and I have never had it actually come out over 17 mpg. Need more info to get to the bottom of this. If you have a diesel, the best way to get better mileage is a mild tune from a programmer. The diesels are detuned from their potential for emissions and longevity reasons but run much more efficiently with more fuel.

You need to reset your computer so it runs with the new equipment if you don't the computer gets different readings now than prior to installing it and may compensate with more fuel etc....

unless you're filling up at the same station, where the truck's incline or level position are the same, you're apt to get more or less fuel in the tank at fill up.Has that right foot gotten any heavier since the mod?....

Actually since buying this truck my foot has gotten much lighter. LOL

However, I have it programmed now and been trying different ones and think I have found a better one. I got over 16 MPG all highway though.
