Ran out of diesel! Now won't crank

RE: Ran out of diesel! Now won't crank
TRY THIS....from someone that knows more about it thanI do. It worked for my brother.
Open the filter drain, KOEO three times for 30 sec's each, close filter drain, start engine.
The engine will run slightly ruff then smooth then stumble again a couple times while driving until the air is worked out of the fuel rails. This is normal and should resolve it's self in 5 miles or so.
If you dry cranked for a extended amount of time then you may need to bleed the fuel rails as you pumped air into the rails. There's a fuel rail 1/8NPT plug on the right front (passenger side) and left rearhead, on the slant of the head.
