Default Steering Column Problems

I have an 89 F 250. I have had problems in the past with the tumbler switch. Replaced it. Worked fine for about 8 months. Then, the actuator in the steering column that activates the ignition switch acted like it was binding up. And then broke. I replaced it. It lasted for about 6 months and broke again. The switch was adjusted properly after the first actuator was put in. What else can I look at and if nothing else, where can I find a new steering column for red interior truck with cruise and manuel drive? Any help would be appreciated!
