Default Clunking noise/upper strut bearing

I'm getting a clunking noise from the front suspension on my 05 Ford 500 at low speeds while turning the steering wheel. The vehicle has done 22,000 miles. Per another post on this forum, it appears the problem lies with the upper strut bearings on the front suspension. If Ford fixed this by putting different bearings on the 08 Taurus (not sure if they did or not), does anyone know if I can put these on my 2005 500 instead and they will fit? I'd rather not replace them with the same bearings and have them go bad again in another 20k miles.

Default wish i had an answer for you but....

I have the same question about my 2006 500. I had both upper strut bearings replaced at about 30,000 and now at 85,000 they are clunking again.... Last time they were replaced it was under warranty - I'm afraid to know how much it will cost to have them replaced out of pocket....
