Default Ford 500 Air Conditioner Compressor

Have a Ford 500 with only 54,000 miles and have been told the Air Conditioner compressor is going out. Can't find a new Air Conditioner compressor and have been told they are sold out and not available. Does anyone know if there a problem with Ford 500 Air conditioner compressors? Temps in AZ over 105 degrees and we need the Air to work.

Hope this helps you.

www.TechChoiceParts.com is where I bought a new compressor and other parts for my 04 Frestar when my compressor failed.

Reman'd unit is $174
New unit is $245

have an '06 Mercury Montego, and would completely lose my a/c when idling, after going to several forums, I learned their is a pretty cheap (like $28) valve that goes bad and is located on the back side of the compressor. My mechanic didn't think it would work, but I had him evacuate the Freon, replace the valve, and recharge the system, now I have a/c and didn't have to pay for an entire new compressor.

Sounds like you just need a new valve.
