CVTs aren't that bad. Why not get an estimate or two to repair before going through a lot of trouble . CVTs are becoming more common and the idea is to keep the engine in it's best economical RPM range and there are no shifts , it's very smooth.

Those transmissions are way too expensive was looking for a cheaper route. If there was a way to make a6 speed work I would...or I can find a awd cvt easier but mine is fwd

I don't know about a awdcvt being cheaper than a 2wd. Did you do any other research on that?

I can't find any info at all on these cars or transmissions, awd cvt will be easier to come by that's why I was wondering if it would work. I'm not finding a trans for less then 2000 anywhere...which is why I'd rather convert to a 6 speed can pick that up for cheap

The days of going to a junkyard getting a will fit engine/trans are over! With computers controlling almost everything you have to start there, then get the wiring harnesses and when you think you are done installing the physical parts get ready to tackle the electronic/electrical problems that come with any change except an exact replacement.
Manufacturers change operating specifications sometimes several times during a model year because it simply involves a reprogramming or reflash of the computer(s).
They don't make info available for any changes they did not make. You're on your own and it can be a hair pulling adventure.
Keep checking you may find someone who has done what you're planning.

I believe that the 2WD and AWD CVT is one and the same, the CFT30 CVT transmission. If going to the 6-Speed automatic transmission, you will most likely need to replace the computer out in your vehicle along with any wiring requirements for for controlling the 6-speed. A used 6-speed along with a replacement computer/wiring will most likely put you beyond the cost of a replacement CVT.
