Default Radio

Hi All. Anyone experiencing radio problems? I have an '02 Focus and my FM doesn't work at all, or 99 per cent of the time. It's as if the antenna is unplugged. Like there was no signal. If I turn the radio on I may get to listen to FM for 60 seconds then nothing, on any station. If I leave the radio on on an FM station I may get a randon signal but it goes right away. At the same time AM works well and the CD player is fine. Any thoughts?

Well, today I bought an $8 antenna mast and installed it. So far so good. Radio has functioned as expected without interruption. In a few days, if everything is still good, I will buy the $28 replacement antenna from Ford.

Nope. That lasted about 4 days and then it started happening again. Signal just drops out. No FM. Maybe you're right 94 4X4 Ranger. Wonder if Ford will give me a new radio...

You can try to get 1 from ford. But I dont think they will. They will try to sell you 1 for about $400.00. You might look into getting it repaired.
