Default vibrant cold air intake on 2000 focus se

I recently purchased a Vibrant cold air intake for my 2000 Focus SE. It did not come w/instructions, but I have some mechanical ability. Anyway, the exhaust hose coming off of the block does not fit the inlet on the pipe. problem, sluggish accelleration for about 3-5 seconds, then the engine seems to kick in. can I plug the exhaust hose or do I need to get an adapter to fit the intake, and if so, what size is the exhaust hose? please help.

I'm presuming your talking about the PVC system hose coming out the valve cover? Well, all you have to do is buy a small cone filter from autozone or pepboys. It's one of those really small cone filters. Just buy the cone filter and then find some sort of piece to hook it up to the hose. I did this to mine a long time ago when I just bought a cone filter for the stock intake. I will try to find pics to give you an idea. Hope this helps...
