1965 ford Econoline pick up truck,,,,OK, I've asked this question before, the title popped in that I had put in before, but I can't find the thread. Anyway, my truck's differential has 4.0 gears, which is too low for my needs. I found out that the differential is a 7.2 "non-removable carrier", but there is a removable plate on the back. Why is there a plate if you can't remove the carrier?, and can I actually change the ring and pinion then? I'm looking for a 3.75 or 3.50 gear ration. Plus if I can't remove it, what rear end would be suitable for this truck Thanks, daddio
