Fiberglass Tonneau Cover
Hi !
New to this forum and hoping someone here can help me. As in the past I just had a fiberglass tonneau cover installed on my F150 w/6.5FT bed . Purchased and had it installed by the one remaining local cap and cover dealer. Over the yeas I have always had either a Leer or A.R.E. fiberglass tonneau cover installed on my long bed F150's and never had any issues. This cap dealer does not carry either brand but thought nothing of this. Sadly, despite the cap dealers best efforts to rectify, I cannot lift to open this cover unless I stand on a 9" stool and wear slip resistance gloves BUT still struggle to lift to open. When I am finally able to lift the cover the first few inches it goes up easily. This cover does have lift assist arms and gas struts rated at 120 LBS pressure. Any suggestions to help me rectify this problem would truly be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes...I'm sure my height, which is 4'10" , is adding to my problems but I have never been taller then 5FT and still had no issues opening the Leer and A.R.E. fiberglass tonneau covers I've owned over the years. My brother who is well over 5ft can 'lift' to open it but has to struggle to do so. The cover I have now is a Jeraco. I have ordered Leer lifts that are rated at 135Lbs pressure but I am not hopeful this will help. I am considering having power actuators installed but want to first search for other possible solutions before investing this type money. Any suggestions would be appreciate.
Again..thanks so much for taking the time to respond
