I have.a 2002 Ford F-150 with the Lariat trim package.

I understand that the records may not have been in put correctly by human error, houwever I feel that the wrong vin has been placed on my truck at time of manufacture in Kansas City as the VIN returns the basic Ford F-150. This truck has been in to only Ford dealerships every 2 (minimum) years for inspection. Oil changes have been completed every 6 months as Owner one was fanatical about maintenance. The interior is mint. The exterior is also mint, or was until an accident in December.

Due to the VIN, as checked for by CarVerticals, there is No updates after arriving in Calgary in 2002. This is where Owner one purchased. Owner Two purchased, took it to ford suburban in Victoria , drove a week,
and sold to myself.

Icbc will only pay book value if 4,700. I disagree strongly with this value.

What options do I have?

Sometimes, records are lost or never inputed. You could try Carfax but if the dealer has nothing, the records may be unobtainable..

 

I am in Canada, my truck was in an accident.

I need to find a comparable trim. I know the original owner ordered it specifically/ specialty.

I can find XLT’s etc but again, not my truck.

The VIN comes back as a Ford F-150 Xlt with the Lariat package. It is not the same truck.
