Cool starting issues

my old starter was not working well. sometimes you had to hit it to get it to start. when i was hitting it i accidentally hit the posotive side and message it spark a bit. after several tried the starter went from click click top nothing at all. I figured the starter was done. I replaced it with a brand new one and nothing. no click click no cranking nothing. I replaced the starter relays but still nothing . I double checked the wires to make sure they were tight. why isn't the starter doing anything?

Could you tell us what this starter is in, it would help a lot.
Did you check the battery cable connections? Do the lights work? Some vehicles have fusible links in the wiring to certain parts of the vehicle, and some others have a high amp rated fuse in the supply system. Do you have access to a test lite or voltmeter?

Turn on the headlights and see if they dim when you try to start it.

If the viper system is the problem, is there any way that you can by-pass that system to eliminate that possibility?
Not familiar with that system, is it just supposed to prevent it from starting or prevent the engine from running?
