Torque converter clutch solenoid 2019 Fusion
I recently acquired a 2019 Fusion with 61k mi, (just over the warranty!) and it started throwing P0741 codes intermittently after a few days of driving it. I'm in SC and there is no lemon law My understanding is that it is locked out of Over Drive, and it only throws the code at highways speeds then resets when shut off. It is sitting at a transmission shop right now and they want to do a full tranny rebuild (essentially). The thing is, the transmission does not slip, jerk, or cause the engine to rev or stall. Tachometer behaves consistently. I've had other mechanically inclined folks drive it and they agree that if the light wasn't on you would never guess that there was an issue. I will say that at highway speeds it stays at just over 20k rpm, which does make me think the OD isn't engaging. But I'm having a hard time buying that it is truly a clutch or torque converter issue. I also don't have $5k to drop on a rebuild. I think the car sat for awhile (cracked tires) so I'm entertaining the thought of changing the tranny fluid and maybe the solenoid and seeing what happens? What are your thoughts on rebuilding a transmission that feels/shifts like butter? PS I've put 2k mi on it and have had no actual symptoms of tranny issues. The code is consistent though.

The converter clutch circuit could mean a few things.
Possible wiring problem, possible solenoid AND there are certain conditions that must be met before the converter clutch is allowed to engage, any of which could prevent a signal from being sent to to the solenoid to engage the converter clutch.
