How to disable door chime
#3
I dont see the chime in the wiring diagrams but based on the workshop manual it is internal in the instrument cluster.
If you really want to disable it you could remove the cluster and open it up, then physically remove the chime itself.

the problem is the digital mesage centre quit 5 yrs ago and cant find another speedometer clustor that works.. seems to be issue. so now when put in gear, has ti push the reset button at least 6 time to shut off the dam chime. and we have broke 5 of those reset buttons at $180 each from Ford and 1 used from wreckers. is nice van, easy on fuel.rides nice. starts great in 40 below not plugged in. has dam near 200,000 kms now.just replace all original brake rotors.pads and calipers last week. we pulled a small tailer to Yukon and back 4000 kms.pulled same trailer to Newfoundland and back 10,000 kms.

The chime does not indicate the message center not working. A chime going off means a door is open, a seatbelt is not on, other things I cant think of right now. Now if the chime was going off and the message center did work I think it would tell you what was wrong, you will need to determine which chime is going off. I believe that the Ford IDS program shows what chime is going off, you could purchase ForScan(its the non dealer version) and see if that has the same capability.
