Check the forum for wheel bearing issues. There are know issues with the particularly the drives side wheel bearing seal hardening due to brake heat and causing whine. Also ask your local Ford dealer about the TSB for the wheel bearing....

Depending on where you live and the temperature outside, it could be your idler pully for your belt tensioner. My 2004 whines at a particular RPM range when it's 15-20 degrees or colder. It stops after warming up with a few minutes of driving. With the wheel bearing seals on the front hubs, the noise normally starts between 30-35MPH and continues at almost any speed. It willgo away momentarily when turning the wheel either direction or slowing down below the 30-35MPH speed.
