Default Time for new tires on my 2004 Limited

Just a tidbit of information incase somebody is interested...

Well, I have just a little over 67,000 miles on my HANKOOK HPW401 P225/75R16 snow tires. They still have "LEGAL" amount of thread, but are loosing their ability to provide traction on wet roads and disperse water causing the traction control to engage off and on when climbing hills. These were an AWSOME tire, but unfortunatly, they don't make this tread in a 16" any more. The closest tire in design that I have found to the HANHOOK HPW401 is the HERCULES Avalanche X-treme (SUV). I am getting 4 of these installed today in the P235/70R16 size. Hopefully they will wear well and last as long as the HANKOOKs did. Only time will tell.

Update...

Have about 1500 miles on the tires now. Took a couple of trips to Columbus, OH. Handles and rides real nice. Nice quiet ride for snows. Just like the old HANKOOKS I had. Patterned the tires and am running 40-PSI in the fronts and 38-PSI in the rears. Nice even wear.

Default sounds like a plan .....

but in FLA don't need snows. Any suggestions for non-snows for when I need tires? And since you had the thread a few years back about trannys, can you look at my thread and send any suggestions.

Thanks. (from someone who used to live in PA and run snows on Pintos back then)

The tire I would use if I was back in your neck of the woods, would be the FAULKEN "ZIEX S/TZ04" tire. The have a wear rating of 500, Traction is an "A" and HEAT is a "B". Tire has a service rating of 99/H which is 1709 LB capacity and speed rating of 130 MPH. The tire tread design has large siping including the outer bead to remove the water from the Florida rains and plenty of MICRO-SIPES for that "Florida, just starting to rain causing the road to be extra slippery" conditions. Lived in Jacksonville for 4 years, know those slimy road conditions very when when it's just starting to rain. However, this is just my personal opinion. I don't worry about price when it comes to a good tire that suits my needs.
