Default Transmission Cooler?

Hello,

I am trying to figure out if what I am seeing is a transmission cooler? I have an 04 SEL and in front of the radiator there is another object about as big, but thinner than the radiator, is a transmission cooler?

Thank you

I am not an expert but that is the usual location of the cooler. If you really need to know, crawl under the vehicle and follow the tubbing of the device in question back and see if it connects to the transmission.

if its about as big as the radiator in length and maybe an inch in width it could be your your a/c evaporator, the tranny cooler should be about half that size, unless your tranny is also using the radiator, as many fords do. but yes definitely to be sure, trace your coolant lines. are you having a tranny cooling problem or something?

The tranny cooler is tube located at the very bottom of the A/C condenser, runs the full length and is has 1.5" square cooling fins.
