Default 2005 ford freestyle

I love my freestlye with one exception. There seems to be an electronic short. We continually get the door ajar light coming on along with the a clicking sound with it. We have stopped several times and insured ALL doors were shut, but the door ajar light and alarm still come on. It does not occur consistently and the dealer could not re-inact it when we brought it in. It drives us crazy because we can't turn it off. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Not with a Freestyle but my 1997 Ford Expedition has been doing this for at least 6-years. I have learned to ignore it

In my case, the problem is with the switch in the door and my Truck is so old it is not worth the cost to get it fixed. In yours, I would have them replace it as your car is too new to deal with this.

There was actually a recall on the door latches for that model due to water intrusion. Sounds like a door ajar switch. Here is what to do.................

Get a good penetrating oil like PB Blaster. Soak the door latch and repeatedly open and close the door to work it in. Do this with all the doors.
