Default ,taillight problem

how you guys doing im having problems with my taillights on my 88 5.0 mustang i just bought, they dont turn on, they only twork when i hit the brake pedal, i thought it was my aftermarket radio after i installed it but i disconnected it all wasnt that, checked the fuses too they all look good, hopefully someone can help me out thanks

Ok then i would try replacing the rear tail light bulb's. Then if that does not work you will have to trace the tail light wire from the rear to the headlight switch.If you have a test light this will help.

aight ill give it a shot, does the switch usually go out like that making the fronts work and not the back, and also ii got the tester what should i do with it if you dont mind telling me

Not common but anything is possible with the switch being bad.As for the tester you will have to find the hot+ wire for the tail light's at the rear light socket it may be brown (not shure)this is your + wire you have to trace.Make sure the light's are on when testing.And ground the black wire from your tester to the black wire in the harness.If the light light's up at the socket the bulbs are bad.
