Ok, but what about the stats??? How are you going to disagree w/ something that has been proven?

I have driven a Jetta GLI 1.8T 5 speed and no turbo lag stock, a WRX 2.0 5 speed has bad turbo lag stock. thats why I said that the Jetta would be fast. My Mustang has the same hp as yours that is why I feel that the Jetta would win, now if you had a 99+ Mustang then the Mustang would win.

RE: Who Would Win?
This website lists the performance specs for the Jetta at the bottom of the page.

0-60 is 7.45 and 1/4 mile is 15.72 - pretty snappy for a small car.
A stock Mustang from the mid 90's should handle it, but stevo0438 brings up a great point. If the stats are heavy in yor favor don't bother asking who will win, go ahead and show the person your car is faster!

RE: Who Would Win?
That is true. All turbos have lag. I have a buddy with a Buick Grand National and we used to press in the brake and the gas petal before launching so the turbo would spool up and there wouldn't be any initial lag once he did launch. That was a fast car...
