RE: 1994 ford ranger sputters
You might check to see if the fuel pressure regulator is leaking fuel into the intake manifold. Locate the regulator (v-6 on the passenger side at the front of the fuel rail) It lays on it's side, with a vacuum line coming out of it going toward the rear of the vehicle. Pull vacuum line off and look for gas. Four cylinder, on the driver's side near the fron of the fuel rail, vacuum line on top. Same test. [sm=mail.gif]

RE: 1994 ford ranger sputters
Hi, I have a 96 ford with a 4.0 v6 thats doing the same thing. I turned off the over drive and i've bin getting a little better mileage running it in the lower RPMs, actually a lot better. My michanic is a hard *** but knows a lot about american cars and trucks. He says there night be something wrong with the acceleration switch. Your comment about the fuel regulater sounds more on the money, but do you think he has a point?

Hi oldtimer
Sorry to bother you but you might be able to help me with this.
Got a 1994 3.0 v6 ranger 2wd.
Was changing sparkplugs, not sure i put them back right.
Manual says someting tottaly different.1-6 going around
But im sure thats not it ,i did one side only now.
Anybody have a picture for me of the distibutor en sparkplugs.
Would be a great help. Its the older system.
Runs put runs rough.
will it even run with the wires put on wrong?
Could be that the headgasket is going to.
How can i check wich side it is.
If that is possible offcourse.
can you change a headgasket in the backyard.
Proberbly somebody did it here.
What tools and stuff do i need for that.
Hope somebody can help me.
Tip: make pictures before you start lol
Maybe i can help you some day
See ya later,i ll let you know
