1999 ExCab 4X4 4.0 auto, WONT START
#11
Where do I look for the wires to the ignition switch? There are three large wire bundles on the firewall right behind the fuse box. Look there or under the dash above the brake pedals?
Electrical is not a strong point with me.
I'm not sure where to look for any of these grounds?
Thanks

Also just noticed the "Theft" light continues to blink even when the ignition switch is turned on and even when you have it in the "start" position.
Does anyone know where the anti-theft module is?
IS THERE A WAY TO BYPASS THE ANTI-THEFT?
Thanks

Hanky,
Thank you for your assistance. It has been GREATLY appreciated.
The Ranger is running again. You were correct in pointing toward the Anti-theft system at possibly being the issue. The reason for the Anti-theft locking out the start system was cause by me I am fairly sure. The first night the truck failed to start, the first thing done was checking the fuses, both in the cab and under the hood. It was dark, misty rainy... and COLD using a minimal flashlight. I must have accidentally reinserted fuse #19 (in cab) in the #23 slot (not used). The #19 fuse I have come to learn is the PCM Power Diode and essentially make the truck act like the anti-theft system lockout, minus... a quick flashing "theft" light every 2 to 3 seconds like I had is normal.
I don't have an owners manual and didn't know what fuse did what or their correct location for the last couple days. Stupid mistake on my part!
Again, I wanted to let you know the outcome and Thanks for your help.
