Default 1999 Ford Ranger 4x4 system

I own a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT Super Cab with a 3.0 V-6 Flex Fuel. Just recently my 4x4 system has for lack of a better term; **** the bed. When trying to engage the 4x4, the transfer case clicks, hubs click and front drive shaft spins but it is still RWD. I need the 4x4 to work for me to work at my job. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

This happened to me. Well, my GF anyways. Seems the auto hubs had broken. Everything worked but them. Replaced with manual hubs because they were heavier and alot cheaper.

If the hubs have failed, you need to replace them with manual units from AVM. You can pick them up on Ebay or from Tellico4x4. They run about $110 or $120 for the set and any shade tree mechanic can replace them in a couple hours in the driveway.
