Default 93 Ranger stalls in rain

93 Ranger, 4 cyl, 5-speed manual, 146k. Truck runs great until it rains. Engine will stall, seems to SUDDENLY lose electricity. Not sure if it's fuel or spark, but voltmeter shows charging even though engine has stalled. If traveling at speed, I can lift my foot off of accelerator, then push back down and engine will resume -- usually. Yesterday during a sudden heavy rainfall the engine stalled and it wouldn't run again for 45 minutes. It will start for a split second, but dies. Over and over. When it finally comes back, I have to feather the accelerator continually for a minute to bring the rpms back.

I looked under the hood a couple of days ago when it was doing this and couldn't find anything that was visibly wet. Regardless, the problem is absolutely tied to moisture.

All suggestions are appreciated.
