Any 2.9L Performance Ideas?
Does anyone know of any performance mods available for the 2.9L V6? Other than the obvious K&N filter and exhaust. I'm looking for possibly a turbo or super charger, and a programmer. Thanks. E-mail me at DRW0392@hotmail.com.

RE: Any 2.9L Performance Ideas?
The 2.9L is about as tuned as its going to get from the factory.
There is one chip avaialble for it, not sure who makes it though, do a yahoo search.
One guy did adapt a turbo to a 2.9L from a 2.2L Chrysler, it worked good under about 9PSI of boost untill the wastegate stuck closed and created 20PSI of boost on stock internals and smoked the motor, but it did run for about a week before he realized what happend.
One other thing you can do is advance your timing a little bit, or if your truck is a 88-92 install a TB from a 86-87. They had a 58MM TB and the 88-92's had a 50MM.

Dustin

Go over to www.therangerstation.com and get ahold of a guy named Fastpakr or sidewalk...tell them rusty sent ya....they should be able to tell you how to get a hold of him.
Actually, 2.9L internals are pretty strong from the factory....as long as you dont go crazy on boost you'll be alright.
