Default assumed electrical malfuntion

well i was messing around with my amplifier last night getting ready to put a bigger one in and forgot to disconnect the battery (still kicking my self for that one) and while i was unscrewing the power cord the screwdriver touched the side of the amp and the lights went out then cam back on dimmed didn't think much about it until this morning when i went to start it the guages were all messed up fuel read full temp said hot and the oil pressure said high this was before i even put the key in the ignition and i still have dome lights and the door chime until i try to start it then everything goes deadthe gauges move back to where they are supposed to beuntil i take the key all the way out then everything comes back andit doesn't even try to roll over just a faint clicking sound under the hood i also tested the battery and the battery has a full charge any ideas? oh by the way it's a '90 ranger xlt 2.9L
