A/C Issue...Compressor?
Okay, first let me say that this is an incredible forum with good advice...so I am saying thanks in advance for all of my future posts!
On to the problem....
I tried to charge my A/C in my 95 2.3 4cyl with no luck. I bought one of those kits from autozone. Someone there was nice enough to help me. It wouldn't let me charge the system. I had it on MAX and it was blowing strong, however, the compressor wouldn't kick on. So, I did the following:
Check the fuse (was okay)
Checked the A/C relay in the "big" fuse panel under the hood....replaced it right there.
The guy suggested (which we did) unplug the connector from the accumulator from the switch and jumper the two terminals of the connector with a paper clip or jumper wire. If your compressor kicks on then the low pressue switch is not closing. It never kicked on.
So, I am stuck. Any ideas or suggestions for someone who is not terribly mechanically saavy, but wants to learn?
Thanks!
Dave

RE: A/C Issue...Compressor?
It could be the clutch switch.[hr]You will need a test light or a meter to see if there is 12 volts there.[hr]This is the plug that go's into the front of the a/c compressor.[hr]Also make shure it is pluged in.[hr]It still might be the relay.[hr]And also when trying to put the a/c on make sure to push the fan button in on the fan selector.

There's my buddy! I knew you would be the 1st to respond
I don't have a fan "button" to manually turn on and off the a/c, just a dial. Even if I swapped the relay, it can still be the relay? Is this the clutch part I need?

If so, do I have to do anything, like remove the refreigerant? Clueless here...
Thanks!

What i am trying to say is push the dial in till the a/c light comes on.[hr]That part look's like the high pressure switch.[hr]What im talking about is at the a/c compressor there are two wires that go in there is a plug there make shure that is pluged in and also check your power there.
