Default Charging my A/C

I have a 1995 Ranger 4cyl. I have noticed that it blows strong, but not cold. My guess is that after 11 years, it probably can use a charge (I am assuming R134). Since I can't stomach giving a shop $80 to charge the system, I was wondering how difficult it is to use one of those Autozone kits that already have the gauge and the freon/lubricant in a can? Also, where do I hook it up to? Isn't there a high/low valve (or something like that) on the engine?

Thanks for your help!

Yes there is a high side and a low side the charging kit will only fit on the low side.[hr]It may already have a blue cap on it.[hr]If not I think it is on the drivers side front.[hr]Start the truck with the a/c on max then push the fitting on.[hr]Open the can and begin charging.[hr]Charge till the needle on the gauge hits the green.[hr]Dont over charge.
