door chime

RE: door chime
Temporary fix would be pull the fuse that controls it as long as it doesn't control major set ups to the car, most the time interior lights/radio/that kinda crapare controlled by a separate fuse, but also be wary of doing such cuz it might also turn off air bags if you have them so that is a potential downside. Just read the manual to figure out what each fuse connects to and you should be fine. It will tell you what all it controls. Besides that i'd have a mechanic check the sensor to see what the problem is.

RE: door chime
Many Rangers have had that problem, including mine. Like the post above suggests, I just pulled the fuse, but then I didn't have a dome light. Most often it is the door pin sensor, your best by replacing the deffective door pin sensor, you might be able to get by byspraying wet graphite (NOT WD-40) into the locking mechanism/ door pin.
Good luck.
Good luck.

RE: door chime
Mine does the same thing but it only does it when i have the igntion in a certain spot. But when I turn the key back and forth and get it into a certain spot it stops. But in your case I would check the wires and the sensor.

RE: door chime
OK, pulling a fuse is fun and all, but the door chime plug in under the dash between the driver and center. You can reach under and disconnect just the chime. That way it doesn't affect anything else in the car and it's easy to put back. Just listen for the sound and it will lead you right to it.
