Default Ford question from a Jeep Guy

Hi, I'm trying to get info a a drivetrain to go into my Jeep Liberty! I dropped a valve in the 3.7 Jeep motor so it's just trashed. I have a 1974 MustangII with a 2.8L V-6 and 4 spd. The 2.8 has +.060 forged pistons, ported heads, aluminum intake, big cam, Holley 650, and Hooker Super comp Headers on it. I had lost interest in it and have been more into the offroad scene for the past few years so it has been sitting. This car was dynoed at 385Hp @ the wheels a few years ago. I would like to drop this lightweight V-6 in to my KJ but don't want to go thru adding the extra pedal, clutch linkage and such for the 4spd. What trannys will bolt to this motor and what xfer case can I use with it? Can anyone tell me which years or models of ranger/broncoII came with this engine package to search for?
I've had people just tell me to drop in a SBC/TH350 combo , but I'm not really a GM kinda guy

Any help anyone could give me, or steer me to the proper source for the info would help out a lot.
Thanks, Larry
