Ford Ranger 2.9 engine with TFI-IV electronic ignition system
[X(] Trying to help my newly married next door neighbor who is very aggraviated with his truck. He took the truck to a shop and told them they did not need to rush to fix his truck. He took the truck there because the truck jerks real bad. It jerks badly when accelerating and normal highway speed. Fuel pump, fuel filters, map sensor, and ignition module replaced. Shop said no bad code (s) displayed. I took neighbor to pick up unfixed truck from repair shop 2 1/2 months after taken to the shop. After we got home I parked my car and asked him to take me for a ride. I had a cup of mud and before we took off he advised me to hold the cup tight. Cup was only 1/3 full at most. He was right when the truck jerked it sent my coffee flying up and out of my cup. Would appreciate it someone could help me help him. I thank you. Tom

Sounds like it can only fuel or ingition related. Have ya'll checked the fuel pressure. To check the ignition, and EFI sensors you'll need a scantool that can display info. Look towards the crank postion sensor, but test it before replacing it. let us know how it goes and what fixes it.
