front drive shaft fell out!!

front drive shaft fell out!!
I have a 1985 Ranger that we use to plow the drive and church parking lot. It is a 4x4 with manual Transmission ( Mitsabishi). She's old and ugly, but gets the job done.
Last week I was delivering the salt to the church, and had to make a hard right turn. CLUNK!!!CLUNK. I stopped and got out, checked underneath her. The passanger drive shaft had fallen out of the transfer, and was laying on the ground, still attached to the front wheel. It soes not appear to be snapped or broken,,,just out.
Now I have to admit , this is the only vehicle we own that we don't have a factory shop manual for(only a Haynes).
Any idvice on what it takes to get the shaft back togather. Like I said she is old, and this is all we use her for, so I hate to put a ton of money in her.
My Dad and I are both mechanically inclined, it's just this has been our only four wheel drive vehicle, and Haynes does not do a very good job explaining this type of repair.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
