Default Front Rotors

Hi,

Looking for information (and sketches if available) about how to remove my right front rotor from my 1994 F-250 5.8 Liter four (4) wheel drive pickup. The hubis the automatic style.

Also, how deep can scratches be on rotor beforeit can no longer be resurfaced? Caliper jammed and wouldn't retract pads, until I heard the classic grinding noise.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Larry

This link provides removal and installation info., as well as rotor specs: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d800ce3ac.jsp

Since the pad wasgrinding, I'd definitely have the rotor resurfaced if it's notalready at the minimum thickness, or replace it with a new one if it is.

Also, was it only the right front that was grinding, and not the left too? If so, I'd inspect the left side. If the wear is uneven between the two, you might have another problem to diagnosewithin your brake system, depending on the severity of the difference between the pads. Please keep us updated.

Agree with Malibou, its not the depth of the scratches, it the thickness of the rotor that determines if it can be turned again and reused. Of course, everytime that you turn the rotor, it will get thinnner and be more prone to warping under heavy use.
