Default Gauge Issues...??

I have a 2000 ford Ranger v6 3.0L flex 2WD, this problem has been around for at least 2-3 years that i know of. When I start my car First thing in the morning and or when my car is cold the Temp and oil gauge wont pop up to the correct position, as the car starts to warm up they start bouncing up to the correct spot then back down once the car is warmed up the gauges go right where they should and everythings fine. There is no other effect from this. There is no problem with the car as far as running goes, I think it's something electrical or maybe a damn sensor, but I cant seem to track it down. I threw a code reader on it many times but nothing comes thru...??? Has anyone had this problem? or can anyone tell me why this might be happening?

Thanks~
