Hard to start when weather cools down
2000 Ford Ranger XLT with 58,000 miles
This has been buggin me for 2 years now. In the summer time my truck starts & runs like a new vehicle. But once the weather cools down, (about 70 - 75 Deg) I have a hard time starting it up. I live in California, so you know it dosen't get that cold here. Does anyone have a similar problem orknow what might be causing this?
Sensors that I replaced:
O2 Sensors - 3 years ago
Air Intake Sensor - 1-1/2 years ago
Temp. Sending Switch- 1-1/2 years ago
Idle Air Control Valve - 1 year ago
Throttle position Sensor - 4 months ago
Thx,
Ralph......

RE: Hard to start when weather cools down
Fixed it. It was the In-Tank fuel pump. After running and not running, the pump finally took a dump.
New pump from Ford - $300.00
Had new pump installed - $350.00 Labor
Getting in my Ranger and knowing it's going to start in Cold or Hot weather - Priceless
