if he took the bolts outta the flex plate an now the motor turns over ,,, Then I would have to say he has the tranny torque converter outta place an it was in a bind

, Possibly damaged the tranny front pump an the converter as well... , A very common problem when mating an engine to a tranny, if the guy isnt careful.,

The converter must be installed all the way in the tranny , if you look at the converter it has 2 ears sticking out of it , those must lock all the way in the pump , take a flashlight an look at the tranny pump an you will see 2 notches for the converter to drop in .

You cant pull/ force the engine to the tranny by like say using longer bolts to pull them together , they should slid together, if not then something is not alined correct

you would have to look at the ears coming off the converter to see if they are damaged ,, , an remove the front pump outta the tranny an look at it for signs of damage,

if this is what happened it will be very easy to see, sorry there no other way that Iam aware. Its very very rare that engine failure will cause tranny failure as well.

Tell him you want to get another Tech. to look at it, an if he screwed it up- take him to court

Is this a real auto repair shop , or some guy with a Sears hand carry tool box, back yard / buddy of a friend type deal ??

i talked to a trans guy he said the onley way it would freeze up is if the housing is cracked or the bushing is way worn out ging to the pump or the bolts backed off between moter and trans
any other way its his fault i just going to have him pull it out look at bushing it will tell the storyi hope but excuse the way i say this what can u expect out of illigles mex
