I bought a 2001 Ranger, I wanted to add a Winch, I called Warn and they said they did not make and were not going to make a grill gaurd for the 2001 Ranger. They did make a grill gaurd for the 98-99 Ranger, the guy at Warn said it wouldnt fit. I did not listen to him and bought it anyway, the thing bolted right up, I didnt have to do anything but trim a little of the lower valance, I added the winch and have pulled myself and others out of mud holes and the thing has not failed once. I then purchased a 2004 Ranger and purchased the same grill gaurd from Warn for a 98-99 Ranger and it bolted up with no problems, behind the bumper and grill the 98-2004 and i would bet that the 05-06 are all the same. A 98 grill gaurd will fit a 98-2004 I know for sure.

Yup! 1998 to 2004 are very similar, but still the same
