Default noisy valves

i own a 90 ranger,2.9 litre 6 cyclinder, with 320 kms on it,and the valves make a ticking noise all the time,is there something i can add to the crankcase,to quiet the noisy valves?

I have the same engine.... but...have you checked a Haynes manual to see if the valves are hyd. or adjustable? Ticking valves are ut of adjustment, low on oil or timing is way off. check oil level first. Keep us posted

Drive it till it dies, then get it rebuilt. Or sell it now

it is tipical of 2.9L engines to have valve noise as they get older. That is a very common complaint. I was told it could be because of the the aluminum heads.

I have a 4L ranger, '91 and its hyd valves tick all the time as well. I've tried everything to get it to quit, except take it completely apart, and it still ticks.
