Default Parking brake...

I have a 97 ranger XL, with a 2.3L and a manual tranny...the problem is this, every time irelease the parking brake, the brake on theleft rear wheel always stay stuck...just have to go under pull down on the cable and i'm good to go.

Does anybody know what could be the problem???

Oh Yeah BTW everything is new (brake, cylinder, drum, brake cable, etc.) the only thing that's not new is the parking brakepedal....thank you

Check to make sure you re-installed the return spring on the e-brake arm in the drum and the components are properly located. It is possible on some drums to install the bars backwards and they cause the e-brake arm or shoes to hang up.

Don't forget my all-time favorite. The junk "new" part.

Check the cable operation unhooked at the back. If OK then check balance and assembly. I hope they didn't adopt the failed GM e-brake system.
