TPS install question.

TPS install question.
I have a 91 ranger 2.3 eng sometimes the idle doesn't want to kick down, so I got a new tps from a parts store , after installing , it would'nt start.
I unpluged the tps and it started, so I removed the tps and re-installed, it started and ran ok, but still sometimes idle won't kick down.
Today I went to make an adjustment by loosing the screws starting the truck and moving the tps,(only very little movement), so the rpms will be at their lowest, after that I restarted a few times everything was ok. However I went out about 15 minutes later and it would'nt start unless I unpluged the tps.
I don't know if the new one is defective or if I'm putting it on wrong or to tight, keeping in mind it worked fine after a few starts.
Any idea's ???

After market TPS? if so, it wouldn't suprise me if it was bad. I always use OEM for all sensors. Even if the aftermarket sensor is made by the OEM supplier, the EOM quality control is different. A lot of times, the aftermarket part is an OEM quality control FAILED unit.
