tranny issue on my 89 4.0 a4ld
hey i have got an issue with my tranny on my 4x4 ranger. drove the truck to work today (89 ranger 4.0 a4ld) and pulled into the parking lot because the torque converter would not come out of lock up. so it feels at least. so somehow i managed to get it home blowing every stopsign and light after i had to push it in order to get it to go in gear and not drive. it chugs really hard and is solid locked. acts like a manual and it needs a clutch pushed in what the **** is wrong with this thing besides the trannys in these are the biggest pieces of **** ever! i was rebuilt two years ago with heavy duty clutches in it and it does not smell burnt. i'm f*%king sick of it i wish it'd start on fire or something. i cant even drive now and i didnt even drive it all summer. maybe once a month.
here is the other thread i started http://www.tcstangs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61595
and it still doesn't want to shift into gears when its cold any ideas?

I have no idea how to solve your problem. However,I checked out that thread you posted on the other site...
