windshield washer jet nozzle often clogged
I have a 92' Ford Ranger with 2.9 V6
I notice that the windshield washer fluid nozzle in front of the windshield gets clogged all the time. Last time I turned it on while spraying compressed air inside the nozzle. This completely cleared out the blockage.
Now both nozzles are clogged and I can't open either of them.
How do I unclog it?
Thanks,
Dave

RE: windshield washer jet nozzle often clogged
I would clean the tank with a garden hose.Sounds like there might be junk in there. Then I would emty it.And use hot water in the tank and spray it until it clear's up.And would consider using a different washer fluid.

RE: windshield washer jet nozzle often clogged
Hi,
thanks to both mulletman and 94' 4X4 ranger for resonding to my inquiry on clogged washer fluid nozzle.
I decided to replace the pump, hose, check valve, and clean out the reservoir. The new check valve also contains a filter which is not really spec for this model year. But a mechanic said it would work anyway.
I did not replace the nozzle, but I pushed a needle through the jets and sprayed these with compressed air, just in case.
Now the nozzle jet is working better than it has for years. It works very well now.
Thanks
