I just inherited a 2000 ford Taurus with only 30000 km on it. It's in mint shape and hardly driven. The cruise control however is not working.
When I go to set it, the green cruise light on the dash flashes briefly but will not set. It's the same if I hit the resume button. Now the other day when driving it home, I set it and it worked. It hasn't worked since. Just the green quick flash of the cruise light comes on then off.

Can anyone tell me where I should start with this one. I'm not going to invest much money into the fix as it's a 13 year old car. (even though it's hardly driven and looks like it just came off the showroom floor.)
