Default 2000 Taurus power windows won't work

I left the house; put the windows down a little and when I got to my destination (5 mins away) I had no power to any of the windows. Nothing.

My son checked the fuse inside the car (#2?? - unclear in the manual which one it might be) and it looked fine. Is there another fuse to check? What else could it be? (I read somewhere else that the windows & dome light might be on the same fuse, but my dome light works.)

HELP! The driver's window has dropped just by my driving the car and is now almost completely down! The passenger window did not drop.

Turns out it was a $17.00 "electric window plug". Had the mechanic fix it. He said something about soldering it in??? Total cost..$78.00.
